Approval to Development works’ Proposals for National Parks-Sanctuaries

Bhopal: Kanha and Satpura Tiger Reserves have been awarded for wildlife management in the Third Asian Ministerial Conference Delhi. Five new wildlife rescue squads have been formed in the state bringing the total to 15 wildlife rescue squads in the state. Rojad (Nilgai) have been rescued from the revenue areas and released in protected areas to avoid losses to crops. This information was given by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan while presiding over a meeting of Madhya Pradesh State Wildlife Board at Mantralaya here today.

Proposals on development work proposed in the state’s national parks and sanctuaries were approved in the meeting. Forest Minister Dr. Gaurishankar Shejwar, non-government members of State Wildlife Board, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Shri Animesh Shukla, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Jitendra Agarwal and officers of concerned departments were present in the meeting.

Proposal on designating rights of villagers from villages situated in the protected areas of Madhya Pradesh were approved. The proposal to change the vacant revenue land into forest land after displacement of revenue villages from protected areas and to change rehabilitated forest land to revenue land after displacement of villages of protected areas during the meeting was also approved. Moreover, approval was given to the construction of proposed third rail line from Berkheda to Budhni under Ratapani sanctuary, partial doubling of Sontalai-Bagra-Tawa within the borders of Satpuda Tiger Reserve, land acquisition for big rail line project, Bhitri-Kurwah bridge construction on Son river in Rewa-Sidhi-Singrauli new rail line under Son-Ghadiyal sanctuary and electrification and doubling of Katni-Singrauli railway line under Sanjay Tiger Reserve. Similarly proposals for the construction of four approach roads in Prime Minister’s Village Road Development Scheme under Sanjay Tiger Reserve, construction of Nandakheda to Omkara road in Khivni sanctuary, A.B road-Basota road to Charaidan road in Son Chidiya sanctuary Ghatigaon, construction of a high-level bridge on Gopad river in Bahar-Korsar road under Son-GHadiyal sanctuary, high-level bridge on Sone ka Gurja on Chambal river in National Chambal sanctuary, high-level bridge on Nakjhar to Bamuri Simhawal road on Son river in Son Ghadiyal sanctuary, upgradation of Rampur to Bhatoudi road under Prime Minister’s Village Road Development Scheme in Satpuda Tiger Reserve, construction of Pipariya-Pachmarhi to Ghana road in Satpuda Tiger Reserve and construction of teen puliya and repairing of Talikapura Basauta road from Dhuan village under Son Chidiya sanctuary were approved.

Similarly sanction of Sidhi-Simhawal 132 k.v. power transmission line on Son river under Son Ghadiyal sanctuary, Rewa-Sidhi 220 k.v. transmission line and sanction of 765 k.v power line on Son and Banas river were approved. Permission to lay optical fibre cable lines on the sides of Highway No. 12 for defence forces in Narsinghgarh sanctuary and laying of optical fibre cable lines on the sides of Highway No.19 and 19A for defence forces under Satpuda Tiger Reserve was also approved. Similarly permission to proposals of mining within the 10-km radius in various sanctuaries was also approved. Proposals for stadium construction in Akbarpur village Kolar Dussehra Ground, Bhopal within 10-km radius of Van Vihar national park, construction of sports ground in Dhuan village under Son Chidiya sanctuary, water pipeline from Manikheda dam to Shivpuri under Madhav National Park.
