First Meeting of School Management Committees on July 15

Bhopal: First meeting of School Management Committees will be held in all the Government Schools and Government Aided Schools on July 15. Directives have been issued by the State Education Center to all the District Collectors in this regard.

Under the Right to Education law, management committees have been formed in all the primary and middle schools for better management and implementation of academic activities. These committees will contribute in children’s enrolment in school, regular presence, qualitative education, infrastructure works and multidimensional development of students. Parents, Head Master, Senior Lady Teacher, Panch of local ward and one woman Panch of the ward have been included in the School Management Committee. These committees have been entrusted with the rights of local management of schools. Committees comprising 18 and 16 members have been formed in primary schools and middle schools respectively.

School Management Committees in over One lakh 14 thousand schools have been formed in the state. Two years tenure have been fixed for these committees which were formed on July 01. Quality of education with active participation of community and regular presence of teacher and students can be monitored daily by these committees. An action plan will be prepared to ensure regular presence of irregular students placing information before the committee. Keeping in view the qualitative education for students, the members of the committee will be informed about baseline test held recently. Moreover, the committees will be informed about learning outcome prescribed for each class and subject.
