All political parties should follow model code of conduct strictly

Bhopal: All political parties should follow strictly model code of conduct after notification of election. State Election Commissioner R Parsuram said this in standing committee meeting held for proposed general elections for scheduled areas and other civic bodies. Representatives of Bharatiya Janata Party, Indian National Congress, Bahujan Samaj Party, Communist party of India and Communist Party of India (Marxist) participated in the meeting.

 Parsuram said that candidates contesting election for president post will have to open an account in nationalised bank. Detail of election expenditure will have to be submitted daily to returning officer. Expenditure more than Rs 5000 won't be made in cash. He gave information about 'Chunav' app. Parsuram told that apart from 18 other identity cards, voters will be identified on the basis of photo-carrying voter slip and biometric device.

 Deputy Secretary Dipak Saxena gave information about online nomination process 'OLIN'. Deputy Secretary Girish Sharma detailed different points related with affidavit and candidate's disqualification. Representatives of political parties gave important suggestions.-WTN
