Sowing in 76 Lakh 37 Thousand Hectare Area of State till Date under Kharif Season in State

Bhopal: Sowing has been carried out in 76 lakh 37 thousand hectare area in Madhya Pradesh till date under Kharif season. A programme has been prepared to sow Kharif crop in 132 lakh 46 thousand hectare area in the state in the current year. Sowing has gained momentum due to the rainfall in last few days. The Agriculture department has advised farmers to sow urad, moong in pulses crops and to sow sesame speedily under oilseeds crops.

Paddy in 6 lakh 43 thousand hectare area has been sowed in Kharif season in Madhya Pradesh. In the current year, programme has been made to sow paddy in 23 lakh 60 thousand hectare area. Millet in 79 thousand hectare area and maize in 10 lakh 43 thousand hectare area has been sowed. Moreover, sowing of soybean has been undertaken on 36 lakh 20 thousand hectare area in the state till date. A programme to sow soybean in 53 lakh hectare area has been made in the state. 248.3 m.m. rainfall has been recorded in this season in the state till date. The normal average rainfall is 249.5 m.m. till July 14 in the state.-WTN
