Over 8 Lakh voters to exercise franchise in coming local body elections

Bhopal: Nearly 8 lakh 51 thousand 732 voters will exercise their franchise for polling of 44 municipal bodies proposed by the State Election Commission on August 9. These include 4 lakh 39 thousand 609 males, 4 lakh, 12 thousand 61 females and 64 other voters.
Commissioner State Election Commission R. Parshuram gave information that the 44 municipal bodies comprise 18 Nagar Palika Parishads and 26 Nagar Parishads. In the Nagar Palika Parishads, 734 polling centres have been made in 390 wards. In the Nagar Parishads, 425 polling centres have been made in 390 wards. This way 1159 polling centres have been made in 780 wards. Average number of voters per polling centre is 735.
Number of voters rise after claim objection
The sex ratio at the time of publication of voters list was 929. At the time of final publication of voters list, the sex ratio is 937. This way there is a rise in number of female voters by 8 per thousand.
