Public Facilities Provided from MNREGA’s Panchayat Bhavans

Bhopal: Public facilities have been provided with convenience to common men from Panchayat bhavans constructed under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee scheme (MNREGA) at Panchayat head quarters.
Immediate benefit of important government’s schemes has been provided to the villagers now. Proper seating arrangements have been made in panchat bhavans and computerised information of various schemes is being provided to the common person. Now it has become convenient for the villagers to obtain work under MNREGA, to apply for schemes’ benefits and to take part in the activities of Gramsabhas.
It may be mentioned that more than two third population of India still dwells in rural areas. Several schemes have been prepared by the government to provide basic facilities to the villagers and overall development of the villages which are being implemented basically at gram panchayat level. Over 1600 gram panchayat bhavans have been constructed under the MNREGA in Madhya Pradesh. A total of 4 thousand panchayat bhavans are under construction which will be completed soon. The villagers are conveniently getting information and availing benefits owing to construction of these panchayat bhavans.
Maximum Rs. 10 lakh has been contributed from MNREGA and remaining amount has been arranged from Panch Parmeshwar Yojana, MLA /MP fund for construction of these bhavans. Cost of Rs. 14.15 lakh for Gram Panchayat Bhavan at cluster head quarters has been fixed whereas a sum of Rs. 12.85 lakh has been fixed towards construction cost for other gram panchayat bhavan. Arrangements of meeting hall, sarpanch room, secretary room, room to store documents toilet etc. have been made in the Panchayat Bhavan. Moreover, arrangements for electricity, seating arrangements, documents’ storage, internet besides computer etc. have been made in these bhavans. Furthermore, employment opportunities have been provided to the villagers through these bhavans.-WTN
