Complete under construction projects on time

Bhopal: Strategic efforts must be made to complete the projects presently under construction for irrigation expansion in Narmada Valley and care must be taken that no farmer of the project command area remains deprived of irrigation benefits. This was said by Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Narmada Valley Development Department Lal Singh Arya today at Narmada Bhavan during review of the project works. Arya took detailed information about the construction of new approved projects apart from Indira Sagar, Omkareshwar, Man, Jobat, Punasa, Udvahan, Aparbeda, Loargoi, Rani Avanti Bai Sagar, Bargi Vyapavartan etc.

Giving detailed information about the various aspects of the projects, Narmada Valley Development Authority Vice Chairman Rajnish Vaish told that water was provided to 5 lakh 50 thousand hectare rakba from the projects in the year 2016-17. Similarly, 6 lakh hectare area will be irrigated in the year 2017-18.

Giving information about 65 per cent completion of the Narmada Malwa Gambhir Link, Vaish apprised the updated status of Sardar Sarovar displacement and rehabilitation. Members of NVDA, chief engineers and officers related to rehabilitation were present at the meeting.-WTN
