OLIN facility used in urban body elections

Bhopal: For the first time, nominations for State Election Commission were made online (OLIN) and in the traditional manner and the candidates availed the benefit. State Election Commissioner R. Parshuram gave the information that all nomination forms of Chairman and Corporator will be filled online for the first time in 9 out of 41 municipal bodies. Not only this, aspirants for the post of Sarpanch filled their nomination forms online. Nominations filled online by aspirants included 347 for Chairman’s post and 2695 for Corporator’s post. Polling will be held in three urban bodies to call back the Chairman from his post. Elections are to be held in total 44 urban bodies.

Parshuram told that all aspirants for the posts of Chairman and Corporator will fill online forms in urban bodies of Dabra, Pali Lakhnadon, Pandhurna, Mandleshwar, Bhikangaon, Alirajpur, Chandrashekhar Azad Nagar (Bhabhra) and Jobat. Along with this six aspirants presented their nomination forms online in Sailana, 16 in Maheshwar, 17 in Sarni, 5 in Mohgaon and 7 in Baihar.

In the Panchayat elections, 294 nominations were presented for Sarpanch’s post, 17 for District Panchayat member, 40 for Janpad Panchayat member and 656 for Panch’s post. General/by-election will be held for 97 posts of Sarpanch, 14 posts of Janpad Panchayat member and 3 posts of District Panchayat member.
The last date for withdrawal of nominations is July 27. The polling will be held on August 11 and counting on August 16.-WTN
