World ORS Day on July 29

Bhopal: Information on prevention from diarrhea will be given to common men through awareness rally at block level of each district on the occasion of World ORS day on July 29. Awareness among people about constant food consumption, maximum use of fluid, prevention of dehydration, dysentery and its ill effects from use of ORS and enhancement of disease resistance immunity from zinc tablet etc. will be generated. ORS packets and zinc tablets have been made available in village Arogya Kendra, Asha Kit and every Government Health center.

Ill Effects of Diarrhea Can Be Prevented from ORS Liquid and Zinc Tablet

In the age group of 5 years, about 10 percent of child mortality cause due to ill effects of diarrhea and dehydration which can be prevented from ORS liquid and zinc tablet. Availability of ORS is ensured in the houses of children upto 5 years of age by the Health department. Moreover, publicity with an objective to spread awareness as how to prepare ORS and quantity according to the age-weight is being conducted during Dastak Abhiyan.

Moreover, information for protection from diarrhea and use of ORS and zinc tablet is being given for initial treatment to the students of primary and middle schools from time to time in the state.

Take Precautions and Prevent Diseases

Diarrhea can be prevented from cleaning hands with soap, clean environment, clean potable water, use of toilet, safe disposal of human waste, consumption of covered food and water and by not consuming stale food. Beside this vaccination on time prevent children from the diseases.-WTN
