All gram panchayats of state to get internet access

Bhopal: All gram panchayats of the state will soon get internet connectivity under Bharat Net Project. The process of linking 12 thousand 690 gram panchayats of 173 development blocks with internet in the first phase is in progress. So far optical fibre line has been laid in 9390 gram panchayats. Revenue, Science and Technology Minister Umashankar Gupta issued instructions to complete the work with the time limit during the review of the scheme. Gupta said that a weekly plan to complete the work of the first phase by September 2017 should be made and in case of any problem, he should be told about it.

Bharat Broadband Network Limited-New Delhi (B.B.N.L) CMD Sanjay Singh told that the tender document for the second phase would soon be sent. He told that 935 optical line terminal (O.L.T.) will be established in the whole state and 23 thousand 319 optical network terminal would be established at gram panchayat level. The terminal would be connected to the solar panel along with electrical panel. Singh said that in the second phase the work of laying the optical fibre line will be completed within the time limit in 10 thousand 316 gram panchayats of 140 development blocks.

Principal Secretary Science and Technology Mohammed Suleiman, M.D. MPSEDC Raghuraj Rajendran and Statewide Area Network Project Director Ripudaman Singh Bhadouria were present during the meeting.-WTN
