Directives to Include Contractual School Teachers in Teacher Cadre

Bhopal: A total of 42 thousand 88 contractual school teachers were appointed under the direct recruitment process in the state in 2013-14. The appointed contractual school teachers have completed more than 3 years service period. Directorate Public Instructions has taken a decision to appoint contractual school teachers on the post of teachers’ cadre. Directives have been issued in this regard by Directorate Public Instructions to all the district collectors and CEOs of Jila Panchayats.

Enquiry committee formed as regard to appointment of eligible contractual school teachers who have completed 3 years time period teacher cadre will examine the prescribed criteria. After the examination only, the eligible contractual teachers will be appointed in teacher cadre. Contractual school teachers Category -1will be appointed as senior teachers, whereas contractual school teachers -2 on the post of teacher and contractual school teachers-3 on the post of assistant teachers will be appointed at the minimum pay scale of teachers cadre. Next salary increment will be payable after completion of 1 year of service period.

The enquiry committee is headed by Chief Executive officers of the Jila
Panachayat. Chief Executive Officer Janpad Panchayat, District Education Officers or Assistant Commissioner Tribal Welfare committee have been included as member secretaries in the committee. An officer of scheduled caste or tribe has also been included in the committee as member. Directorate Public Instructions has told the concerned district collectors to initiate necessary action in this regard within stipulated time.-WTN
