Transport Minister Singh Issues Directives for Intensive Checking of School Vehicles

Bhopal: Minister for Home and Transport Bhupendra Singh issued directives to the Transport Commissioner for intensive checking of school vehicles. Singh said that an intensive campaign should be conducted to check permits, fitness, speed governors and to ensure compliance of other rules. Strict action should be taken against vehicles ferrying children more than the capacity. All the Regional/District Transport Officers should be directed in this regard. The concerned Regional Transport Officer will be held responsible in case of any negligence.

It has come to the notice of the Transport Minister Singh that schools vehicles are being plied without fitness, permits and speed governors etc. Students more than the capacity are being ferried in the vehicles resulting in accidents.-WTN
