Special Campaign for De-Addiction to be launched from Raksha Bandhan –Minister Smt. Chitnis

Bhopal: Minister for Women and Child Development Smt. Archana Chitnis said that a special de-addiction campaign will be launched from Raksha Bandhan to free people from the habit of intoxicating which is spreading in the society. Under the concept of ‘Sashakt Parivar-Sashakt Desh’, sisters will tell their brothers affectionately to take resolution to quit alcohol, smoking and other vices. This campaign will be conducted in the form of pledge like ‘Bahen Ki Vinti Apne Pyare Bhai Se’.
Smt. Chitnis during a press conference held at Mantralaya informed that a letter of pledge is being made available to the sisters under this public awareness campaign. In this letter, a demand has been made from the sisters to brothers for taking resolution towards de-addiction. Also prayer for brothers’ long, happy and healthy lives beside leading lives with positive approach has been included in this letter. Smt. Chitnis further mentioned that affectionate touch in place of pressure is more effective. Love and affection of families and resolution to quit addiction will create positive ambience in this direction.
Moreover, Smt. Chitnis informed that this public awareness campaign is being launched with an objective to bring positive change in the thought process of the people. Campaign will be conducted till Janmashtmi. Pledge letters are being provided in aaganbadis, schools-colleges, panchayats and urban bodies. Draft of pledge letter will also be displayed at temples, rakhi shops, and other public convenient places.-WTN
