Visitors from other states should be careful towards contagious diseases

Bhopal: Public Health and Family Welfare Minister Rustum Singh has appealed to people coming from other swine flu affected states to take special care. Singh said that cases of swine flu have increased in states neighbouring Madhya Pradesh including Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Gujarat in the last one month.

Get test done as soon symptoms show

Visitors from nearby states with swine flu symptoms including cold, cough, sore throat, headache and fever or difficulty in breathing should immediately visit a government hospital and get themselves examined with a pulse oximeter. If found swine flu positive, one should start taking precautions and treatment.

Swine Flu (H1N1) is a disease caused by virus infection. The infection can spread from one person to another through the infected person’s sneeze, cough etc. The infection is more active between July and February. One should not neglect any symptom found in this period and immediately visit a doctor.

Daily review by Health Department

To ensure effective prevention of Swine Flu, Malaria, Dengue and Chikungunia, the Health Department is taking appropriate steps through daily review. Efforts for prevention are being made by the Health Department in coordination with Urban Administration and Gas Relief Department. Teams constituted for larvae destruction is conducting door-to-door survey. Special vigilance is being carried out in areas around affected patients.-WTN
