Get Elisa test done to confirm Dengue

Bhopal: Public Health and Family Welfare Minister Rustum Singh has appealed to the people to get their Elisa test done at the government hospital to confirm if they have dengue after diagnosis from a private hospital. Singh said that in case of high fever, headache, rashes on body and vomiting, a doctor must be consulted and as per his advice, blood test must be done from a government hospital.
Do not allow water collection anywhere
Singh said that the Dengue mosquitoe breeds in clean water and bites during the day. Therefore, do not allow water to collect in cooler, tyres, old earthen pots etc for a long time. Wear full sleeved clothes in the day. Singh said that put a teaspoon of mustard oil in the cooler as with the formation of a layer of oil on the surface of water, larvae will not breed.
Drink more liquids
Consume maximum liquids like water, milk, buttermilk, juice etc. in case of fever. Apply water strips on the entire body during fever. In cases of appearance of rashes on the body, get the patient admitted to the hospital immediately and get him treated. Do not panic if the number of platelets in blood reduce. Do not consume any pain reliever with the exception of paracetamol.
The Health Department today again reviewed swine flu, dengue, malaria and chikungunia in the state. Coordinated teams of Department of Health, AYUSH, Gas Relief and Urban Administration department are conducting larvae destruction besides keeping a check on these diseases. Reports of nine patients of dengue and one patient each of chikungunia and swine flu on August 3 are negative. Total 22 cases of dengue in state from January till date have been reported which includes10 of Bhopal district, 9 of Jabalpur, one each of Panna, Dindori and Damoh. No dengue death has been reported in 2017.-WTN
