Election in 44 Urban Bodies on August 11

Bhopal: Election will be held in 44 urban bodies of the state from 7.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. on August 11. State Election commissioner R. Parshuram informed that all the arrangements have been made to hold peaceful election. Also concrete security arrmgements have been made. Moreover, directives have been given to erect water proof tents in all the election centers for the voters. Beside this by-election for corporators of various urban bodies will be held. Votes will be counted from 9.00 a.m. on August 16. 

206 Candidates for President Posts

Parshuram informed that 206 candidates for presidents in urban bodies and 2133 candidates for corporator posts are in fray. There are 18 nagarpalika parishads and 26 nagar parishads.

Total 8 lakh 51 thousand Voters

There are 8 lakh 51 thousand 732 voters in these 44 urban bodies including 4 lakh 39 thousand 607 male, 4 lakh 12 thousand 61 female, and 64 other voters. Number of wards and voting centers are 780 and 1159 respectively. Average voter per voting center is 735.

Election App

Moreover, Parshuram said that voters can obtain e-voter slip through election app. They can find the address of voting centers by finding routes on google app. The voters can also obtain information about the candidates besides election results.
General and By-Election in Panchayats

In addition to this, by –election for 5631 panchs, 74 sarpanchs, 14 janpad members, 3 jila panchayat members and general election for 356 panchs and 23 sarpanchs will be held on August 11. Votes will be counted on August 16.-WTN
