Distribution of Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme Amount to Farmers from August 16

Bhopal: Distribution of crop insurance claim amount under the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme Kharif-2016 to the farmers is being started from August 16. A sum of Rs. 1818.96 crore against insurance claim will be deposited in the bank accounts of 7 lakh 42 thousand 970 farmers of the state. Detail directives in this regard have been issued by the Principal Secretary Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development department to all the district collectors. Principal Secretary has said that state’s and central government’s share of premium amount has been received by the insurance companies. Bank wise amount is being transferred through RTGS by the insurance companies. Amount in beneficiaries’ bank accounts will be adjusted from August 16 at branch level.

Farmers’ conventions will be organized at district level from 16 to 31 August to distribute the amount among the farmers. State level farmers’ convention at Vidisha, Sagar, Ashoknagar, Guna and Shivpuri and district level conventions in other districts will be organized. Certificates will be given to the beneficiary farmers in these conventions. In absence of beneficiaries in the convention, certificates will be made available to the beneficiaries farmers at their residences.

Under the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme the maximum amount of Rs. 574.82 crore to One lakh 51 thousand 789 farmers of Vidisha district will be distributed.
