Total 37 Swine Flu Cases Found till Date

Bhopal: Samples of 221 H-1 and N-1 suspected patients have been sent for test from July 01 till August 16 in the state. Reports of 195 patients have been received and swine flu has been confirmed in 37 patients. Moreover, report of remaining 26 samples has yet to come. At present, 13 patients in government hospitals and 8 patients in private hospitals are under treatment. This information was provided by the Health department during the daily review being made for effective prevention of H-1, N-1, malaria, dengue and chikungunya in the state.

Directives have been issued to the doctors in the meeting that awareness should be generated among the common people against the diseases. Prevention is cure. Do not use handkerchief or tissue paper in case of cough and cold. Use dustbin to dispose of tissue papers. Keep a distance of one meter from the person suffering from cough. Patient should take caution to use hands at the time of meals only and keep away hands from the mouth at other times besides not to shake hands with others. Clean hands with soap after touching nose, mouth and eyes and avoid visiting public places.

Moreover, use lukewarm water or Listerine for gargle. Consume maximum hot liquid substances and take balance and nutritious food. Vitamin C like lemon, amla and oranges should be consumed in maximum. Clean nose with water at least once a day. While consuming vitamin c tablet ensure that it contains zinc.-WTN
