Health and Panchayat and Rural Development Department to jointly give award
Bhopal: The Public Health and Family Welfare Department and Panchayat and Rural Development Department have jointly implemented an award scheme to award districts that ensure cent per cent vaccination under the Intensive Mission Indradhanush. In this scheme, an award of Rs 2 lakhs each at the district and gram panchayat level and Rs 1 lakh at Health Department sector (primary health centre) level will be given. Those who achieve cent percent vaccination target will be awarded at a ceremony to be organized in Bhopal in the month of March.
The Prime Minister has launched Intensive Mission Indradhanush all over the country to ensure cent percent vaccination. Total 13 districts of state including Vidisha, Raisen, Sagar, Panna, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Rewa, Sidhi, Singrauli, Shahdol, Sheopur, Jhabua and Alirajpur are included in the mission. Cent percent immunization target has to be achieved in these districts by January 31, 2018. The target includes listing of children up to 2 years registration of BCG, DPT – 3, Penta/DPT and measles on RCH portal.
For the award, the Development Commissioner will be given information about the district, sector, gram panchayat eligible for the award after verification of the vaccination of every infant up to 2 years from the Principal Secretary Health between February 18, 2018 and February 28, 2018.
Maximum 10 per cent amount only will be given to any particular person from the district and sector-level award. The remaining amount will be distributed to individuals for excellent work at the district/sector level. The award money will be made available by the Health Department.
Out of the gram panchayat award money, Rs 20,000 will be for the award. The remaining Rs 1 lakh 80 thousand would be spent on gram panchayat infrastructure development works. Out of the cash award of Rs 20,000, maximum Rs 10,000 will go to the sarpanch and the up sarpanch and the remaining Rs 10,000 will go to the field staff for best work in achieving vaccination target. This award amount will be given by the Directorate of Panchayats.-WTN
