Clay Ganesha statues available for sale at Hastashilpa and Khadi Board centres

Bhopal: Wishing the people of the state for Ganeshotsav in advance, Environment Minister Antar Singh Arya has appealed to install clay Ganesha statues. Arya told that eco-friendly clay models of Ganesha are available for sale at the Handicraft and Handloom Development Corporation and Khadi and Gramodyog Board by Madhya Pradesh Matikala Board.
Arya said that expressing concern over environment conservation, even the Prime Minister has given message to install clay models of Ganesha in place of POP statues on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi in his radio programme ‘ Man ki baat’.
Arya said that it is very essential to preserve the state’s ponds, kund and rivers for the future. Immersion of POP statues not only pollutes the water, but is also reducing the capacity of water logging. Taking these ill-effects into account, the use of clay Ganesh statues is gradually taking shape of a public campaign. Apart from environment conservation, it will generate employment for clay sculptors and promote Indian tradition.
The Environment Minister urged people to immerse the Ganesh statues either near their houses or at the kund or places fixed by the administration.-WTN
