Work with mission to free state of malnutrition: CM Chouhan

Bhopal: Work on a mission to free the state of malnutrition, said Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Resolve to remove stigma of malnutrition from the state. There is no dearth of resources for this in state and with better use of the available resources, the target will be met. Shri Chouhan was addressing a Nutrition Smart Village workshop here today. One village each from all the development blocks in state will be made Nutrition Smart Village in the next one year.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the growth rate of the state is continuously in ten digits. The agriculture growth rate is highest in the country. The per capita income is also constantly on the rise. Until and unless the benefit of growth does not reach the common man, it is of no use. It will have to be ensured that the benefits of growth reach the poor and the children. State government has launched several schemes for children. The Mukhya Mantri Medhavi Vidyarthi Yojana has been introduced to ensure that no problem arises in the higher education of brilliant children. Children are the future of the state and the country. Better implementation with better schemes is needed. He told the field officers of the Women and the Child Development Department that they should work considering it a mission. The work of development of women and children is very sacred and significant. Officers-employees with good performance will be rewarded. He told them to work towards making Madhya Pradesh the best state of the country.

Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Archana Chitnis said that one nutrition village has been selected from all 313 development blocks. Those who perform well will be given the Deendayal Nutrition Award. Drinking water arrangements have been made in all anganwadis of the state. Electricity arrangement through solar energy is also being made in all the anganwadis.

Similarly Soya-milk distribution is also being arranged. Director of Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Jabalpur Anupam Mishra gave information about the concept of Nutrition Smart Village. He told that the concept will be implemented with the coordination of seven departments. Madhya Pradesh is the first state to introduce this concept.

Chief Minister Chouhan dedicated the Anganwadi Help Desk mobile-app in the programme. Principal Secretary Women and Child Development J.N Kansotia, Principal Secretary Agriculture Dr. Rajesh Rajoura, Commissioner Women Empowerment Smt. Pushpalata Singh besides field staff of various departments including Women and Child Development, Agriculture, Horticulture and Animal Husbandry were also present during the programme.-WTN
