480 items of office purpose available in Government e-Marketplace

Workshop on Government e-Marketplace organized
Bhopal: A workshop to promote the use of Government e-Marketplace (GeM) in government institutions was organized at the Academy of Administration by the Micro, Small and Medium Industries department. The Director General of Supply & Disposal (DG&D) of Commerce Ministry of the Government of India Rajesh Jain gave a presentation of GeM portal at the workshop.
On the occasion Jain told that goods used in various departments including Ministry, departments, corporations and Boards worth Rs 400 crores was procured through e-procurement within less than 6 months of developing GeM portal. Through this portal, 480 types of office use goods in government departments, corporations, boards can now be procured at reasonable prices.
Details about the vendor registration, order placement and payment processing were given through the portal.
Principal Secretary of Micro, Small and Medium Industries Department V.L. Kantarao apprised with the process of procurement of goods used in government departments, corporation and boards. Officer/representatives of all Bhopal-based departments, corporations and boards were present.-WTN
