Mukhya Mantri Bal Hriday and Bal Shravan Upchar Yojana boon for kids

Bhopal: The Mukhya Mantri Bal Hriday and Mukhya Mantri Bal Shravan Upchar Yojana is proving to be a boon for children. The Health Department has taken up the responsibility of providing benefits of these schemes to children suffering from heart and hearing problems through Prompt Intervention Centres in the districts.
Master Atharva’s heart and hearing problem resolved
Ujjain’s Master Atharva Bhavsar’s heart ailment by birth has been resolved through the Mukhya Mantri Bal Hriday Yojana. Master Atharva celebrated his first birthday on December 19, 2016 after treatment. Later he was cured of his hearing ailment through Mukhya Mantri Bal Shravan Upchar Yojana on July 2, 2017.
Master Atharva was suffering from problem of general blood transmission in the heart besides hearing problem since his birthday on December 19, 2015. Atharva’s parents were taken aback when there was no sound of crying of their child at the time of birth. Things worsened after Atharva’s body started turning blue five days after birth. When taken to a private hospital, they were told that the flow of blood to Atharva’s heart was not normal. Despite treatment for two months at the family’s own expense, there were no positive results.
Nitin Bhavsar, Atharva’s father contacted the mobile health team working under Government- run National Child Health Programme. The team went through Atharva’s report and after consultation with senior doctors, it was decided to send him to Narayana Hridayalaya, Bangalore for treatment. A successful surgery was performed upon Master Atharva under the Mukhya Mantri Bal Hriday Yojana on April 28, 2016 with the efforts of the District Administration and Health Department. Master Atharva celebrated his first birthday after complete recovery.
Unfortunately, Master Atharva’s got a shock when one fine day they came to know that their child was deaf also. His father Shri Nitin Bhavsar contacted DIC and got his son examined at Divya Advance ENT Clinic, Bhopal. The estimated expense for the treatment was Rs 6 lakh 50 thousand. On July 2, 2017, Master Atharva underwent a successful Cochlear Implant under Mukhya Mantri Bal Shravan Upchar Yojana. At present his regular speech therapy is in progress. It is indeed a miracle that two surgeries of the heart and ears on the same child were successful.
Atharva’s mother Smt. Neena Bhavsar and father Nitin Bhavsar have termed the scheme initiated by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan as a commendable step and expressed happiness at the support extended by the District Administration and the Health Department.-WTN
