Regular meetings to be held with prominent persons at police station level for social harmony, law and order

Bhopal:  Home and Transport Minister Bhupendra Singh has issued instructions that meeting should be held every month at police station with prominent persons for maintaining social harmony alongwith law and order. He asked to strengthen the inspection system for prevention of road accidents. The Home Minister was addressing a meeting of police officers of Bhopal and Hoshangabad divisions at Police Control Room, Bhopal today. Director General of Police Rishi Kumar Shukla was present in the meeting.

The Home Minister said that prevention of road accidents is challenge for the police. He said that there is need to make efforts to prevent them with public participation. The home minister said that driving licence of persons driving in inebriated condition should be cancelled with the help of transport department. The minister Singh said that property of criminal persons should be confiscated and destroyed. The criminals can be weakened economically by doing so. He said that there is a need to work constantly on prevention of cases of molesting with women.

He underlined a need to impart training for self defence. Discussing illicit liquor and drug smuggling, the home minister said that strict action should be taken against the persons involved in the crime.

Home Minister Singh said that new types of crimes of fraud are being committed in the society due to cyber crime. He asked to strengthen cyber cell. He emphasised need to create awareness in children against Blue Whale Game. He asked to include parents and school management in the awareness drive.

Director General of Police Rishi Kumar Shukla gave detailed information about efforts for strengthening police force. Bhopal zone, IG Yogesh Chaudhary informed that crimes have been reduced in the zone due to constant monitoring. Police are working with Aaganwari workers under Smarth Sangini Yojana for prevention of women related crimes. Vehicle accidents have reduced by 33 percent as compared to last year's data. Training for traffic rules has been imparted to 25,000 students in 70 schools and colleges of Bhopal district. Advanced cameras are being installed at 14 places in Bhopal city under the aegis of Smart City Cell. Traffic Police, Bhopal, initiated to connect with social media users in order to be smart and responsive.

Traffic warden whatsapp has been started. Rout diversion and traffic status are being communicated through this. Whatsapp no 7587602055 has been installed for public convenience. Five variable messaging system at Lal Ghati Square, Board Office Square, Roshanpura Square, Alpana Crossing, Piplani Petrol Pump and 10 no Bus Stop, Shivaji Nagar, and Kolar Square, Bag Sevania and Ret Ghat have been set up. Superintendents of Police of Bhopal, Hoshangabad, Betul, Harda, Raisen, Rajgarh, Sehore and Vidisha gave details of law and order situation in their respective districts.-WTN
