Chief Minister Undertakes Shramdaan on Prime Minister’s Birthday

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan undertook Shramdaan for construction of toilet at the residence of Ganpat Adivasi of village Kaneri – Gram Panchayat Surajpur district Chhatarpur on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday and gave a message of ‘Swachhata Hi Sewa’ today. Chouhan mentioned that the birthday of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is being observed as Sewa Diwas in the state.

While starting the ‘Swachhata Hi Sewa’ and ‘Jal Roko’ campaigns at village Kaneri, CM Chouhan said that toilet is must in every house. Diseases spread and non availability of toilets spoils dignity. He told the officers to ensure toilet’s construction at each house conducting Swachhata abhiyan. Public representatives should render their cooperation to make the campaign successful. Chouhan told the people to keep their village and house clean.

Furthermore, Chouhan mentioned that less than 50 percent rainfall has been recorded in Chhatarpur district this year. Drought situation is possible due to less rainfall. The state government will provide all possible assistance to tackle drought crisis. Chouhan performed boomi poojan for toilet construction in front of the house of Ganpat Advasi built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and undertook shramdaan by digging a pit. Chouhan deliberated with the beneficiaries Ganpat Adivasi, Hari Adivasi, Hulasi Adivasi and Janakrani while inspecting their houses built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Chouhan also planted saplings and distributed incentives cheques to 32 beneficiaries under this yojana. He also apprised himself about the products being manufactured by the self help groups visiting stall of State Rural Livelihood Mission.
