CM Chouhan Chairs State Level Bankers Committee Meeting
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that agriculture loan should be increased more keeping in view the ratio of state's credit loan. A roadmap has been prepared to for doubling the farmers' income. Bankers have significant contribution for bringing change in the state and lives of people. Moreover, bankers should implement the schemes of the state government paying attention on poor, farmers, labourers and women. CM Chouhan was addressing the State Level Bankers Committee meeting here today. Chief Secretary B.P. Singh and Chairman cum Managing Director of Central Bank of India Rajeev Rishi were present in the meeting.
CM Chouhan mentioned that Madhya Pradesh is developing fast. State's growth rate and agriculture growth rate are its examples. Irrigation capacity has been increased from 7.50 lakh hectare to 40 lakh hectare in the state. A special campaign is being conducted to redress the revenue cases. Moreover Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana has been implemented to ensure reasonable rates of agriculture produces to the farmers. Efforts are being made to increase the income of the farmers through horticulture crops, animal husbandry, fisheries, agro forestry and sericulture products. Farmers' income will grow by these activities related to agriculture. Cooperation of banks is essential in these efforts of the state government, he added.
Self Employment Conventions at Districts and Blocks Level
Furthermore, Chouhan asserted that banks should act on priority on Mukhya Mantri Yuva Udhyami, Mukhya Mantri Yuva Swa-Rozgar and Mukhya Mantri Arthik Kalyan schemes being introduced by the state government to make state's youths the entrepreneurs. Loan should be provided to talented unemployed youths for establishment of industries. Moreover, provide assistance to youths of farmers' families in order to establish industries in food processing sector. Self employment conventions will be organized at districts and blocks level in the state from November 11 to 30. Bankers should ensure their participation in these conventions.
Digital India Campaign to be conducted
CM Chouhan stated that cashless transactions are being encouraged. Payment should be made to the farmers on time under this system. Digital India campaign is being conducted from December 16 to 31 in the state. Such arrangements should be made that pension payment to poor beneficiaries and MNREGA wages should be paid conveniently. Make effective arrangement of business representatives. Launch campaign for Pradhan Mantri Jivan Jyoti Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Bima Suraksha Yojana. Banks should make arrangement for internal vigilance to improve their credit.
Start New Bank Branches Keeping In View the Distance
Moreover, Chouhan said that banks should provide help in scheme being prepared to provide relief to the farmers keeping in view the drought situation. Beneficiaries of monetary loan scheme should be selected properly and the scheme should be monitored. Increase the target of standup scheme. Excellent works are being undertaken by the women self help groups in the state. Bankers should help these groups on priority and make them strong and multi objectives. Banks should start new branches in tribal and rural areas keeping in account the distance in place of population ratio.
Booklet of Annual Credit Scheme Released
CM Chouhan released booklet of Annual Credit Scheme of the state for the financial year 2017-18 in the meeting. It was informed in the meeting that a special campaign will be launched in the state from September 25 to October 04. Under the campaign new bank accounts will be opened and attention will be paid to bring people under the ambit of the scheme who are left out from the social security scheme, to enhance digital payment process, to increase monetary loans and Standup India loans. Total loan of 3 thousand 719 crore has been disbursed under the monetary scheme in the state in the current year. Moreover, 2 lakh 78 thousand 826 beneficiaries have been benefitted in the state under the Pradhan Mantri Shahri Awas Yojana. Senior Officers of the concerned departments and representatives of banks were present in the meeting.-WTN
