Ensure spot redressal of farmers’ woes

Bhopal: In a meeting of the District Water-Consumers Committee at Singrauli, Commerce, Industry, Employment and Mineral Resources Minister Rajendra Shukla told agriculture officials and scientists to stay in regular contact of farmers. Encourage farmers to sow crops that ripen in less water in Rabi season. Ensure redressal of farmers’ woes on the spot.

Shukla said that the farmers are facing the challenge of saving their Kharif crop followings scanty rain. For this it is essential to organize farmers meet and farmers seminars in every panchayat. The Industry Minister said that they should visit villages along with agricultural scientists and field squad. He instructed that there should be no dearth of fertilizer-seeds for farmers. Ensure adequate storage of quality fertilizer-seeds in the district. Agriculture Department should prepare a work plan. Shukla instructed to launch a campaign for crop insurance registration of farmers.
