Bhopal: Response Reports of all programmes run by Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology (MAPCOST) should be prepared. The extension of the programmes will be considered on the basis of the report. Revenue, Science and Technology Minister Umashankar Gupta was addressing the 9th general body meeting of MAPCOST. Gupta said that an atlas of all districts should be prepared in a year.
Gupta said that Vision-2035 should be planned taking into account the needs of Madhya Pradesh. MAPCOST will prepare Madhya Pradesh Science and Technology Vision-2035 with the support of Technology Information Forecasting and Assessment Council, New Delhi. Decision was also taken of setting up a Technology Access and Customization Centre. This centre will carry out work including promotion of industrial units, modern technique for conservation of agriculture produce, mobile app based marketing technique for artisans, protect grains against pests and preparing laakh and polymer designs through 3-D printing etc.
Gupta said that Taramandal Ujjain should be widely publicized. Free admission of students must be considered. He said that students from all sectors must be taken on visits to scientific institute under Vigyan Manthan Yojana. Increasing number of students can also be considered. College and university students should be given access to research facility in the institute.
Gupta said that research areas should be fixed. He said that a discussion should be taken with the concerned departments regarding geo-mapping. A sub-committee of subject experts of the general meeting should also made.
Principal Secretary Science and Technology Mohammed Suleiman said that the website of MAPCOST should be kept updated always. All procedures should be online. BHEL Executive Director D.K. Thakur said that outstanding students must be made to visit BHEL also. MAPCOST Director General Dr. Navin Chandra gave information about various activities undertaken by the institute. Important suggestions were given by the members of the general meeting.-WTN
