Actual Quantity of Available Mineral to be Assessed by Scientific Method

Bhopal: The state government has decided that actual quantity of mineral available in the approved and identified sand mines will be assessed by scientific method. A circular with directives in detail has been issued to all the District Collectors in this regard. This activity to assess the quantity of sand mined will be carried out between October 01 to December 31 after the end of the rainy season every year by RPQ/Contractor through scientific method.

Moreover, assessed quantity will also be certified by the concerned District Mining Officer. Clear directives as regard to determine the boundaries of sand mines and on assessment of sand quantity have also been issued.

Sand quantity available as on assessment date will be considered as bonafide mining quantity for the next year. While undertaking mining process on October 01, if sand quantity could not be assessed due to some problems than 50 percent of the sand quantity assessed by the lease holder last year between October 01 and December 31 will be considered bonafide. In this manner the 50 percent quantity will be added in the sand quantity available on the date of assessment. Positive or negative of the total quantity will be considered bonafide for sand mining for the next year.

A database of quantity of sand mined and collected will be prepared pre and post rainfall every year, which will be considered as base to assess bonafide sand quantity to be mined next year. The boundaries of sand mines and sand quantity will be ascertained at the length of the river. The boundaries of the mines will be determined in the form of latitude and longitude. Moreover demarcation of mines will be made for expansion of sufficient area according to the local geographical conditions on both the sides of the sand mine. Identified and approved area of mine before the assessment of sand quantity will be tallied with the patwari/revenue khasra map to ensure that there is no difference in the site of the identified mining area and revenue map.-WTN
