Five NCC Academies and three boat-houses to be set up in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: NCC Academies will be opened in Bhopal, Indore, Sagar, Gwalior and Jabalpur for holistic development of school and college students in the state. Also, boat houses will be set up in Bhopal, Jabalpur and Gwalior for training in naval wing of NCC.

. Around Rs 194 crore and Rs 1.50 crore will be spent on NCC Academy on boat house construction respectively. Land allotment has been made in Indore, Sagar and Gwalior for NCC academy. Process is underway for land allotment in Bhopal and Jabalpur.
 
Plan is in the pipeline for opening NCC unit in Kotma in Anooppur. Sanction has been given to introduce NCC course as an optional in all high school and higher secondary schools by school education department. Proposal for including NCC course as optional subject in middle and higher middle level is under consideration before the state government.

 The main function of NCC is to impart training to school and college students for navy, army and airforce as per prescribed training pattern. The main aim of NCC is to develop character, courage, friendship, discipline, leadership and secular approach in youths to become them as responsible citizen.

 Noteworthy is that over 1500 NCC candidates rendered their services in last Simhastha in Ujjain. The candidates provided services with Seva Dal sub-committee in traffic guidance, help to needy and elderly people and maintain hygiene in environment.-WTN
