Election Commission Made Announcement for Chitrakoot Assembly By-Election

Bhopal: The Election Commission of India has made an announcement regarding by-election in 61-Chitrakoot Assembly Constituency of Satna district. The voting for by-election will be conducted on November 9 and votes will be counted on November 12. The process of nomination will start along with the notification to be issued on October 16. Nomination papers will be filed till October 23. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on October 24 and October 26 has been fixed for withdrawal of names. The model code of conduct has been implemented in Chitrakoot assembly constituency from today. All the works related to the election will be completed by November 14.

Chitrakoot By-Election is being conducted owing to the demise of the then Member of Assembly Prem Singh on May 29.

Office of the Chief Electoral Officer has issued instructions to the District Election Officer, Collector and Returning Officer to keep vigil on election expenses. They have been told to form different monitoring teams for this activity.-Windowtonews
