Prabhabai Earning Rs.11Thousand p.m. from Flour Mill

Bhopal: Prabhabai, a resident of village Bamanbada of Chicli Block-district Narsinghpur is earning a monthly income Rs. 11 thousand approximately owing to the economic assistance from the self help group. This has become possible through self-help group of Madhya Pradesh Deendayal Antodaya Yojana under the State Livelihood Mission. 

The Rural Livelihood Mission is working in the rural areas of the state to link women with the self-help groups. Several women have become economically self –dependent after linking themselves with the groups.

The economic condition of Prabhabai was not good. Somehow the family was leading life with great difficulties facing economic crisis. Workers of Rural Livelihood Mission suggested her to link herself with Pooja Self-Help Group In the beginning she got Rs. 10 thousand of community investment and received Rs. One thousand as revolving fund. At later stage she received Rs. 36 thousand in her first bank linkage and in the second bank linkage she received Rs. 50 thousand. Prabhabai is connected with the self-help group since February 2012.

Now economically self-dependent Prabhabai describes that she has earned an income of Rs. 3 lakh 45 thousand till now. The life standard of her family has changed because of the flour mill. Now she has learned to work outside in bazaar which has enhanced her self-confidence. She now describes the importance of self-help group to the women of her village and other villages. Taking inspiration from Prabhabai, the other women of the village have also linked themselves with animal husbandry, poultry farming and other small businesses with the help of self-help groups.

The self-help groups of Rural Livelihood Mission are very strong and powerful. Women by organizing themselves can make themselves economically strong.-Windowtonews
