Satvanti Bai is Feeling Elated These Days

Bhopal: Satvanti Bai, a beneficiary of sericulture project of MNREGA of Balaghat district is feeling elated these days. Her happiness knew no bounds when the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi watched success of her model and enquired about its secret.

This is an incident of October 11 of Mela ground of Pusa located in New Delhi. The Prime Minister visited the place to watch the exhibition held on the occasion of Birth Centenary of Nanaji Deshmukh. The Prime Minister was informed by Satvanti that her income has grown four folds by sericulture and her family is economically sound now. 

While giving presentation on her model before the Prime Minister, Satvanti, resident of village Budbuda of district Balaghat informed that she used to cultivate traditional crops like paddy, maize etc. and earned an annual income of Rs.30 to 35 thousand.

She was unable to satisfy the needs of her family with such a low income. Now as compared to earlier, she is making four folds profit from 2 acre land. She earns an annual income of Rs. One to One lakh 25 thousand by producing silk four times in a year now. All the needs of the family are being fulfilled and both her children are pursuing studies very well.

Satvanti Bai represented Madhya Pradesh by exhibiting successful model of silk sub scheme in the fair. She also shared her success story with representatives came from other states of the country. Savanti Bai says that she is glad as the state government has provided her an opportunity to represent the state in the fair.

Moreover, it is a matter of pride and happiness for her that the Prime Minister praised her hard labour.-Windowtonews
