Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana is historical initiative in farmers interest

Bhopal: Farmers Welfare and Agricultural Development Minister Gaurishankar Bisen said that Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana is a historical initiative for farmers to give fair value of their produce. Bisen was addressing launching ceremony of Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana in Jabalpur Krishi Upaj Mandi todday. MLA Sushil Tiwari and local public representatives were present at the programme.

 The Minister said that agriculture sector in the state has got over all change in last 14 years. This has been possible due to farmer-friendly policies of the state government. He said that the production of wheat in Madhya Pradesh has increased in three folds. Despite Chhattisgarh being a separate state, the farmers of the state are providing rice to the state and rice is being supplied to other states. He said that the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana will be expanded as per the requirement.

In the program, Bisen informed about action plan prepared by the State Government to double farmers' income in next 5 years. He said that farmers should take traditional crops as well as a horticulture crop. The agriculture development minister feted six farmers by giving away certificates for Moong sale on the occasion of launching of the scheme. Farmers were present in a big number in the programme.
