“Aao Bhaiyya Tumhe Sair Karaoon” Pink Driving License Campaign from Bhaidooj

Bhopal: Minister for Women and Child Development Smt. Archana Chitnis said that a provision for preparing free of cost driving license for women and girls has been made by the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Special camps will be organized by the Transport, Higher Education, School Education Department, Directorate of Women Empowerment for preparing pink driving licenses to facilitate women and girls to drive two and four wheelers rightfully. In order to encourage women and girls for preparing licenses, the campaign on the tagline of ‘Aao Bhaiyya Tumhe Sair Karaoon’ will be launched from Bhaidooj. These camps will be organized in colleges, schools, municipal corporations, municipalities and at block level. Smt. Chitnis issued directives in the meeting held today in this context.

Additional Chief Secretary Higher Education B.R. Naidu, Principal Secretary Transport S.N. Mishra, Principal Secretary Women and Child Development Shri J.N. Kansotiya, Principal Secretary School Education Smt. Deepti Gour Mukherjee and Commissioner Women Empowerment Smt. Jaishree Kiyawat were present in the meeting.

Smt. Chitnis mentioned that provision of license with ease is must keeping in view the women’s mobility owing to rapid urbanization. This will build mentality for working under the legal obligations and will develop self confidence for driving vehicles. The temporary driving license is made for 6 months period. During this period, driving training will be imparted to the girls and women through 94 driving training institutes existing in the state. After this, the Transport Department will provide regular license after conducting special campaigns.

Moreoverthis activity will inspire women to adopt driving as profession. Operation Driving Shaurya in the form of campaign will be conducted for this. This campaign will begin from November one to International Women Day on March 08, 2018.-Windowtonews
