National flag and UN flag will be hoisted in government buildings

Bhopal: The United Nations Day programme will be observed in state on October 24 this year also like previous years. With the exception of Raj Bhavan, Vidhan Sabha Bhavan and High Court buildings, the United Nations flag will be hoisted on government buildings where national flag is hoisted regularly. In the districts where the UN flag is available, they will be able to hoist the UN flag along with the national flag in important government buildings.

According to the Flag Code of India when the flag of the United Nations is hoisted along with the national flag, it can be place on any side of the national flag. Generally, the national flag is hoisted in such a manner that it is on the right side at the front which means it on the exact left of the person facing the flag. Centre has issued guidelines in this connection to all state governments.-Windowtonews
