Bankers Must Work with Sensitivity in Self-Employment Schemes

Bhopal: Minister for Finance and Commercial Taxes Jayant Malaiya said that ambitious schemes have been started by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in order to provide self-employment opportunities in the country. Banks must works with sincerity and sensitivity to provide loans to youths and women. He further mentioned that priority should be given to provide economic assistance to the persons of poor category. Malaiya was addressing the programme organized to inaugurate the branch of Dhan Laxmi Bank at Indrapuri-Bharat Nagar -B.H.E.L today.

Malaiya stated that self-help groups in large numbers have been formed in Madhya Pradesh to economically strengthen the women of deprived category. Banks are responsible for their progress by providing them economic assistance. He also informed about the houses being constructed for the needy persons under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the programme. Moreover, he informed that mega camps were organized under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana at Bhopal and Indore recently. Services of the banks were praiseworthy in these camps, he added.

Chief General Manager Manikandan informed that Dhan Laxmi Bank was established in Trichur of Kerala in the year 1927. All the sections of the society have cooperated with the bank since the last 90 years. Turn over of the bank has become 18 thousand crore now. Branch Manager Sundreshan K. informed that the bank has 258 branches in the country. The bank has started its first branch of Madhya Pradesh at Bhopal. Branches will be expanded in other cities of the state shortly.

Further, Regional Head of the bank Murlidharan M. said that the Dhan Laxmi Bank is giving priority to the Micro Financing. There are 35 lakh customers of the bank in the entire country and good services are being provided to them.
