Balram Taal Brings Happiness to the Family

Bhopal: Happiness and prosperity have become part of the family of the tribal farmer Pawan Singh of village Soniyamaar of district Anuppur due to the Balram Taal. Pawan Singh used to cultivate non-irrigated crop earlier on his 2 acre land. Somehow, he managed to harvest Kodo crop in Kharif season but he had to wander from place to place for livelihood during Rabi season. It was difficult for him to fulfill the daily needs of his family.
Then one day, the Deputy Director of the Agriculture Department informed Pawan Singh about the Balram Taal scheme . After completing the formalities, he received grant from the agriculture department and got the Balram Taal constructed at his farm land. Balram Taal filled his life with happiness. His farm which was able to produce Kodo in a limited quantity is transformed into a farm producing two crops.
Pawan Singh has started cultivating paddy crop in Kharif and has begun producing tomatoes, cauliflowers, brinjals etc. along with wheat during Rabi season. Moreover, he has also started earning additional income by cultivating arhar crop on the boundaries of his pond. Pawan Singh earns Rs. 30 to 35 thousand as annual income from the vegetables now.
Everything looks like a dream; I had to go to others’ fields for labour, now I am capable to employ others. How could I have fulfilled the ever growing needs of my family in absence of Balram Taal. I am contented now that I am able to look after my family in a better manner, Pawan Singh says.
Balram Taal not only brought happiness and prosperity in the life of Balram but has increased the ground water level of the village. It has increased the water availability and has become a medium of good environment balance. Besides irrigation, birds and animals are getting not only water to drink but are getting cool shade around the pond.-Windowtonews
