Animal Husbandry Minister Arya to Inaugurate First Phase from Kalapipal

Bhopal: In order to make animal husbandry more profitable, Gokul Mahotsav is being celebrated this year also like last year. Minister for Animal Husbandry Antar Singh Arya will inaugurate the first phase of Mahotsav in a state level programme to be held in veterinary hospital campus of Kalapipal district Shajapur on the occasion of Gopashtmi on October 28. A large veterinary camp and exhibition is also being organized in Kalapipal on the occasion of Gopashtmi. Large number of animal keepers are expected to take part in the camp.
Veterinary camps in villages of all the districts of the state will be organized by the animal husbandry department during the Mahotsav. Treatment of animals, vaccination, medicine distribution and problems related to the animals will be resolved in the camps. Moreover, information about departmental schemes, activities and information to obtain benefits through new techniques from the animal husbandry will be provided to the cattle rearers.
It may be mentioned that 98 lakh 397 veterinary camps were organised at village level during the Gokul Mahotsav started in the state from the last year. Registration of total 33 lakh 22 thousand 27 cattle rearers and One crore 94 lakh 53 thousand 82 animals were made during the Mahotsav. During the Mahotsav, 33 lakh 11 thousand 648 animals were given treatment and vaccination to One crore 14 lakh 78 thousand 819 animals was administered. Beside this 2 lakh 94 thousand 41 cases of gelding, 58 thousand 233 cases of artificial insemination, 5 lakh 5 thousand 249 cases of sterility treatment, 3 lakh 15 thousand 409 cases of foetus test, 13 thousand 97 cases of animal insurance, 34 thousand 196 cases of surgery and 92 lakh 7 thousand cases of medicine distribution were undertaken during the Mahotsav.
It may be highlighted that Gokul Mahotsav is organized with an aim to provide information to the animal keepers to make the animal husbandry more profitable by advance animal husbandry techniques and scientific method beside treatment of animals by visiting houses to house in the villages, vaccination, sterility treatment and to solve all the problems of animals by distributing medicines. Moreover, the animal keepers of remote areas are benefited by wide publicity of beneficiaries' oriented schemes. Gokul Mahotsav was organized first time in the state in the year 2016-17 from October 31, 2016 and second phase of the mahotsav was held in two stages of one month each from March 14, 2017.-Windowtonews
