Highest Sports Awards announced by Sport and Youth Welfare Minister Smt Scindia

Bhopal: Sports and Youth Welfare Minister, Smt Yashodhara Raje Scindia has announced the players and trainers selected for the highest Vikram, Eklavya, Vishwamitra, late Prabhash Joshi sports awards and life time achievement sports award for the year 2017.

This year, 14 junior players will be awarded with Eklavya awards; ten senior players with Vikram Award, two coaches with Vishwamitra award, one sports celebrity with late Prabhash Joshi sports award. Life time achievement award will be given to another sports personality for development of sports and promotion of sports and lifelong contribution. These sports celebrities will be awarded: -

Eklavya Award-2017

This year 14 players will be awarded the Eklavya Award. They include five each players from Indore and Bhopal and each one from Ashok Nagar, Jabalpur, Shivpuri and Gwalior. Manisha Kir (Shooting) Bhopal, Smt. Pratyaksha Soni (Soft Tennis) Bhopal, Bhopal, Priyam Jain (Wushu) Ashoknagar, Smt. Mala Kir (kayaking-Canoeing) Bhopal, Smt. Sudipati Hajela (Horse Riding) Indore, Titiksha Marathe (Swimming) Indore, Vishwajeet Sandhwa (Rowing) Bhopal, Smt. Harshita Tomar (Sailing) Bhopal, Piyush Singh (Weightlifting) Jabalpur, Palash Samadhiya (Karate) Shivpuri, Smt. Anchit Kaur (fencing) Gwalior, Smt. Jyoti Parke (soft ball) Indore, Akash Rudele (Kabaddi) Indore and Smt. Ishika Shah (Billiord-Snooker) have been selected for Eklavya Awards.

Vikram Award-2017

Ten players including five boys and five girl players have been selected for the Vikram Award this year. They include three players from Jabalpur and Bhopal, one player each from Tikamgarh, Agar-Malwa, Indore and Gwalior. Prince Parmar (kayaking-canoeing) Tikamgarh, Smt. Swaywati Jatav (Wushu) Jabalpur, Sanjay Singh Rathod (shooting) Agar-Malwa, Smt. Sona Kir (Rowing) Bhopal, Smt Reena Scindia (Karate) Jabalpur, Smt. Shaila Charles ( Sailing) Bhopal, Affan Yusuf (Hockey) Bhopal, Narendra Samelia (Kho-Kho) Indore, Smt. Sarita Raikwar (Powerlifting) Jabalpur and Dharmendra Ahirwar (Swimming-Divyang), Gwalior, have been selected for Vikram Award.

Vishwamitra Award-2017

This year's Vishwamitra award will be given to Smt. Taruna Chavre (Mallakhamb), Ujjain and Davinder Singh Khanuja (Powerlifting) Indore.

Late Prabhash Joshi Sports Award-2017

Late Prabhash Joshi Sports Awards, instituted this year to promote Malkhamb sports, will be given to Malkhamb player Chandrashekhar Chauhan, Ujjain.

Life Time Achievement Award-2017

This year's Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to late Prabhakar Kulkarni, Indore posthumously for his outstanding contribution in cricket, Kho-Kho and Kabaddi.-Windowtonews
