Recruitments should be made every year to fill vacant posts: Gramodyog Minister Arya

Bhopal: Cottage and Village Industries Minister Antar Singh Arya has issued instructions to make at least 5 percent recruitments every year to fill vacant posts of employees which has been constantly reducing due to retirements in the department. Arya told to ensure action through State Public Service Commission, PEB etc. for recruitments to posts of various categories. Arya was today reviewing activities of the Department of Cottage and Village Industries. Among those present at the review meeting included Principal Secretary Smt. Veera Rana, Commissioner Silk and Managing Director Khadi and Gramodyog Smt. Madhu Khare, Commissioner Handloom Smt. Sonali Vayangankar and Chief Executive Officer Mati Kala Board Chandramohan Sharma.
Reviewing Mulberry Cocoon, Tussar Cocoon, silk thread and silk textile production in the state Arya said that farmers should be awarded for best silk production. It was told at the meeting that a training centre has been approved in Indore to increase silk production.
Training in silk production to farmers
A silk training centre will be established very soon in Indore in which farmers will be trained for a period ranging between 15 days to 3 months by the Central Silk Board. Farmers will be sent on study tour of best sericulture sites to state and other states to learn work related to silk production. It was told at the meeting that a model centre of silk production will be developed on 26 acre land at Limbadih in Khargone district for which Rs 12 lakhs has been approved.
Handloom Park in Chanderi
Discussion was held during the meeting on construction of a handloom park at the cost of nearly Rs 31 crore in Chanderi project. Nearly 24 work-stations have been constructed in this park where in 240 angle frame looms have been established. Weavers will be provided with all facilities related to handloom textile production and marketing.
Khadi becoming more popular
Managing Director of Khadi Gramodyog Smt. Madhu Khare told that people’s inclination towards khadi clothes seems to be increasing in the state. Nearly Khadi clothes worth Rs 5 lakh have been sold in October month alone.-Windowtonews
