Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana Transportation Expenses of 15 k.m. Distance to be Paid to Farmers by Mandis

Bhopal: Transportation expenses of 8 identified agriculture produces of Kharif -2017 will be paid to the registered farmers by the mandis if their agriculture field is situated at a distance of 15 k.m. or more from the mandi on the basis of per k.m. Detailed directives have been issued by the Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Department in this regard today. The rate of transport will be determined by the by the Committee of District Collector, Regional Transport Officer and Mandi Secretary of District Level. Transport expenses will be paid from the Mandi Fund.

The selected agriculture produces for transportation expenses include soybean, maize, sesame, ramtil, ground nut, moong, urad and tuar. Conditions and provisions for the payment of transport expenses have also been fixed. Under the conditions and provisions, the district administration will act as an agricator to authorize tractor-trolley/ vehicle for the districts of notified tribal areas of the state. The list of the notified tribal districts have been sent to all the concerned.

In the districts of non-tribal areas, the transport expenses will be paid on transportation by the tractor-trolley/vehicle being made available by the custom hiring centers opened by the Agriculture Engineering Department. The district wise information of the custom hiring centers is available on the website www.mpdag.org of the Directorate of Agriculture Engineering. The transportation expenses will be paid to the transporter on the basis of mandi’s documents for the crop transported to the mandi after verification of its sale in the nearest mandi campus as per the transportation rate fixed by the concerned district collector’s committee.

Moreover, under the conditions of the scheme, the payment will be made at the rate fixed by the committee of the district against the sale of agriculture produces in other nearest mandis of the district. In case of transportation of agriculture produces of more than one farmer in the same tractor trolley at a time, the transportation expenses will be paid to the transporter as per the conditions applicable in the districts of notified and de-notified areas. The payment against the transportation will be deposited through digital payment in the bank accounts of the transporters by the mandi committee.

It may be mentioned that over One lakh 12 thousand farmers of the state have sold their 32 lakh quintal agriculture produces in the notified mandis of the state till November 02.

Chief Secretary Holds Meeting

The state government has posted senior officers in 25 districts under the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana. These officers will visit the districts and review the arrangements at the mandis and implementation of the scheme. Moreover, these officers will get the shortcomings being found in the review removed through district administration. The meeting of the concerned officers was convened by the Chief Secretary B.P.
