38th Meeting of State level Coordination Committee held
187 complaints registered against Non-Banking Financial Companies in Police
Bhopal, Nov 28: Chief Secretary S.R. Mohanty said that a campaign will be launched against the companies involved in illegal money collection in the state. Stringent action will be taken against the non-banking financial companies, unincorporated bodies and multi-state cooperative societies after obtaining the information through district administration about their ongoing activities in various districts of the state.
A wide public awareness campaign should be conducted to apprise masses of their illegal activities and validity. Mohanty was addressing the 38th Meeting of State level Coordination Committee related to non-banking financial companies and unincorporated bodies at Mantralaya.
It was informed in the meeting that 45 FIRs have already registered with the police out of the 187 complaints against the non-banking companies and investigation is ongoing in 52 cases. In this series, 52 complaints related to Ratlam and Sehore districts have been received from the Reserve Bank of India against the Sahara Group. Out of these complaints FIRs have already been registered in 18 cases and inquiry is under way in 7 cases.
The Additional Chief Secretary Finance Anurag Jain, Principal Secretary Home S.N. Mishra including Officers of Reserve Bank of India, Cooperative, Institutional Finance and Police were present at the meeting.- Window To News
