Provision of Rs 684 Crore for Backward Class Post-Matric Scholarship

Bhopal: State Government has made a provision for Rs 684 crores in the departmental budget for post–matric scholarships to students belonging to the Backward Classes in the state. For Backward Class Post Matric scholarships, the annual income limit fixed for guardians is Rs one lakh.

To bring transparency in the scholarship approval details and also so that the post matric scholarships reach the Backward Class students timely, the system of depositing of the form has been made online. In this arrangement, the students can fill and deposit the form from anywhere online and also come to know of the status of his form.

State Scholarship

The State Scholarship is sanctioned to Backward Class students of Class 6
to 12th.For this year, Rs 161 crore provision has been made in the budget. This scholarship is targeted to benefit 35 lakh beneficiaries. Last year, a provision of Rs 150 crores 43 lakh was provided to 34 lakh students belonging to Backward Class.-WTN
