Waiting for the new Congress President increases!

JULY 31 (WTN) - After the historic debacle in two consecutive Lok Sabha Elections, the Congress party is currently facing the leadership crisis. Rahul Gandhi had resigned as the Congress president after the Congress Party's defeat in the 2019 Lok Sabha Election, and he has asked the party to choose a leader as new Congress President other than the Gandhi family. The days are going on day by day, but the suspense remains on that who will become the new president of the Congress party.

It is known to all that the Gandhi family is paramount in the Congress party. After resigning of Rahul Gandhi as the Congress President post, Congress leaders had made a lot of effort to convince Rahul Gandhi but Rahul Gandhi did not take back his resignation. Not only that, Rahul Gandhi has clearly said that neither he nor any member of the Gandhi family should be elected as Congress President. Here, Rahul Gandhi is stuck on his insistence, but the demand for his sister and Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to become the Congress president has started gathering in the Congress party.

The Congress Party, which has been ruling for the longest time in the country, is leaderless today. Since Rahul Gandhi's resignation, the close leaders of the Gandhi family do not understand that what should be the process of electing the party's new president, and who should be the president? Between the same irresoluteness, the senior leaders of the Congress have once again shown their faith in the Gandhi family, and they are lobbying to make Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as the Congress President. On the other hand, a group of young leaders is standing with Rahul Gandhi’s decision that no member of the Gandhi family should be appointed as the Congress President at this time.

After the Sonbhadra massacre, the way Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had surrounded the Yogi Government of Uttar Pradesh and had compelled him to answer, Congress leaders saw a big leader in Priyanka Gandhi Vadra ready for the future since then. Some Congress leaders believe that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is like Indira Gandhi and she can give a tough fight to the BJP. Senior leaders like Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and former Union Minister and Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor have endorsed Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as the Congress President.

If this time the political activism of Priyanka Gandhi is talked about, then her complete focus is against the UP’ BJP Government. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is remonstrating from time to time regarding the policies of the Yogi Government, which is sending a message to the Congress leaders that she is facing off directly against the Chief Minister of the country's largest state. Frustrated and angry with the defeat in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, currently Rahul Gandhi is not active in the politics. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has proved her activism in comparison to Rahul Gandhi that she is not disappointed after the defeat.

Congress leaders are disappointed and desperate due to not being president in the Congress party. Congress leaders of the state are unable to find the right guidance from Delhi, which has led to the Congress losing an important southern state of Karnataka. In the coming days, many other states, including Maharashtra, have to hold assembly elections. In such a situation, if the Congress party president remains absent, then it is natural that the leaders of these states will not have confidence and they will not get the right leadership.

Among the demands for Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to appoint her as the Congress President, it is being said that senior Congress leader of Karnataka, Mallikarjun Kharge, may be given the responsibility of the Congress president, because he is close to the Gandhi family. Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot and former Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia may be the vice-president, but it is being said that Rahul Gandhi is not accepting this formula.

It is being said that the Congress Working Committee meeting can be held soon to end the leadership crisis in the Congress party. So far the meeting was not possible, because Rahul Gandhi was in the US. It is natural that once again Congress leaders will appeal to Rahul Gandhi to rethink his decision, but it does not seem that Rahul Gandhi will withdraw his decision. Now, while Rahul Gandhi will not be ready to become president, in such a scenario, senior Congress leaders will try to persuade Sonia Gandhi that Priyanka Gandhi should be the Congress party president to spirit party workers.

Rahul Gandhi neither wants to be the party president nor wants to see any member of his family as party president. Indeed, Rahul Gandhi believes that the Congress should now gradually reduce dependence on the Gandhi family and finally end it. Well Rahul Gandhi's thinking is practical. But, the Congress Party can’t be united without the leadership of the Gandhi family. In such a case, once again a member of the Gandhi family will again become the president of the Congress party sooner or later.
