WTN- Have you ever noticed yet that apples floats in water. There is a scientific reason behind this floating called Archimedes Principle. Apples float in water because their overall density is less than that of water. Their density is less than water because 25 percent of an apple's volume is air.
If any object have less density than water it will float reversibly objects having density more than water will sink when put in water. If you review the internal formation of apple then you will find air pockets in between the cells of an apple. These air pockets hold enough air to be captured inside the apple makes overall density less than that of water.
Apart from apple other fruits like lemons, bananas, oranges, and pears, will float while potatoes, and mangoes will sink! – Window To News
