WTN- Among all human body organs, the liver is the only organ having regeneration mechanism. It is known that as little as 25% of the original liver mass can regenerate back to its full size Liver is the most important part of our digestive system.

Factually it is important to understand that the liver on condition of damage still continue to function and regenerate itself. But as the damage to the liver cells becomes more severe to a point where it will no longer regenerate and function. In this condition liver transplant is the only option.

However Liver is able to replace damaged tissue with new cells by a complicated mechanism. According to researches on any extreme damage of liver ranges up to 50 to 60 percent of the liver cells may be the liver will repair completely after 30 days if no complications arise.

Any complication could be arise related to liver disease standard regeneration process of liver is either incomplete or prevented by any damaging agent such as a virus, a drug, alcohol, etc. Severe scarring of the liver is the condition known as cirrhosis which indicates late stage liver disease and transplant could be the only way to recover.- Window To News
