Blame game begins between the BSF soldier and Forces over the viral food video!
A soldier deployed along the Indo-Pakistan border in Jammu and Kashmir, Tej Bahadur Yadav released four videos online which took the internet by storm. The video highlights the pitiable condition of the food served to the jawans.
In a statement issued by the Force: "Different correction mechanics have been applied as he was a habitual offender of absenteeism without permission, chronic alcoholism, misbehaving and using force with superior officers and certain other acts against good order and discipline.” The BSF has also demanded a fair probe in the matter.
But in a telephonic interview with a leading news channel, Yadav had another story to tell. "They removed me from there (my current position) and brought me to the battalion headquarters. They questioned me if I made the video, and I said yes." He further added, "How can they charge me for indiscipline when I haven't done anything wrong? Had it been a matter of national security, I would have admitted of doing something wrong, but I haven't done any such thing. My fight is for our human rights and I am only raising my voice for that."
"I did inform the present commander multiple times, but when no action was taken, I uploaded the video as a last resort. I have shown the ground zero reality," he said when asked why he didn't choose the correct way to lodge a complaint.
There have been reports of Yadav's not-so-clean track record. On this, he quoted, "Had the case been this worse, why did the forces award me? I have been awarded 16 times, a gold medal is to my credit. Yes, for my past follies or stepping out of the code of conduct, I have been punished. But all that can't take away from this issue."-Agency
